The new Sony PSP handheld has reportedly been hacked. Specifically its "unhackable" UMD media disc can be dumped onto a computer, but it can't be copied onto a memory stick to use in the PSP. The PSP had already been hacked to surf the internet with the included wireless and to watch TiVo. Software pirates: 1 Sony: 0.

I don't own a PSP, but it seems like a bunch of people at school bought one. I bought a Nintendo handheld a couple years back because I went on a lot of work trips. I thought it would give me something to do in the hotel room, but I just couldn't get into it. I suppose I'm too old and crotchety to get a kick out of hitting the jump button at exactly the right instant to make the skateboarder ollie over the ditch.
