The CEO of Goldman Sachs, Henry "Hank" Paulson, has been nominated by the President for the Secretary of the treasury. The current Secretary, John Snow, has resigned.

Paulson has lead a huge run-up is GS stock. It will be interesting to see what Paulson can do in the Treasury position and how much freedom he will be provided. Snow and his predecessor, O'Neill, were economists so I wounder if a finance guy would provide a different perspective. Hopefully, he will urge movement toward national debt reduction.
