I'm 3 weeks into the fall semester at Wharton. Things are already coming fast and furiously. Everyone in school is divided into learning teams for their first year. My learning team is pretty good and quite diverse. We've got a banker, consultant, entrepreneur, engineer, marketer, and me with no actual business skills. The employers are already coming to school. It makes you feel as if you need to have a job lined up already.

I front-loaded a lot of my tougher classes, including finance and communications. The classes I am taking are: Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Leadership, and Communication. The classes actually have fancier names like "Leadership Finance for Managers who Lead" or the like. There are a lot of class projects due over the next few weeks. The 2nd year students say that this is the most difficult period in the whole year. Maybe it's some sort of trial by fire. In any case, it's not that bad.

I'm still not sure exactly what career path I will pursue. I think consulting would be a blast The leadership rotational programs at some of the big companies look interesting too. I suppose I don't have to decide quite yet...
