Another USNA classmate of mine was killed, Erik Kristensen. He was a Navy SEAL who was killed in the recent helicopter attack/crash in Afghanistan. I think people are focused on Iraq and don't realize there are people still dying in Afghanistan as well.

Additionally, Admiral James Stockdale died last week. He went to USNA with my grandfather. Stockdale was a Navy pilot who spent 7 years as a Vietnamese prisoner, including 4 years in solitary confinement. He organized the prison resistance movement and once beat his face to a pulp so the Vietnamese couldn't use him in a propiganda video. He recived the Medal of Honor and ran as Ross Perot's running mate in 1992.
