If you've ever tried to deal with Dell, you've probably noticed that it is next to impossible to speak to a live person. Today I tried to call to get my name of their catalog mailing list. I receive a catalog about every 2 weeks, even though I don't think I've bought anything from Dell in years and nothing at this Philadelphia address. I finally got through to a person after about 15 minutes on hold and we were promptly disconnected before I could get even a single sentence in.

Wonderful. However, I searched on the Dell website and finally found this page: link. Overall, it was a phenomenal waste of time for a small issue. The lengths I go to in order to save the environment!

I registered with the Direct Marketing Association to have our address removed, but seems to have had little effect on the incessant catalogs we receive--especially this time of year. For example, I bought some 'wicked good' slippers from LL Bean last winter and now receive a catalog about every 2 weeks on average. I would think the marginal cost of all those mailing would completely eat up any profits they garnered on my shearling slippers. It seems very wasteful both in energy and resources so I hope I can cancel most of them.
