The USDA came out with a new food pyramid yesterday. The website, MyPyramid.com, got 48 million hits the first day and went down. I think the new pyramid looks vaguely like a trendy striped shirt from Banana Republic.

My time overseas in Europe showed me how fat Americans really are. Nearly everyone in France and Italy are thin, especially people under 40. And they all wear black. Apparantly even Europeans are getting fatter now that we have sucessfully globalized McDonalds and KFC. I'm not sure the food pyramid is taken as seriously as when I was in grade school--especially now that schools carry Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and the like.
