We had a farewell party last night at our house and had a really good time. I'm sure we will see many of the people before we leave next month, but it is still sad. Our friends who own a copy center made a sweet 8' long banner that says "Wharton University of Pennsylvania Class of 2006" with the school logo. I'm going to keep it for parties at school.

Caroline is walking all over the place now and starting to increase her vocabulary. We're still at the stage where only we know what she is saying though. I think this is one of the really fun periods of parenting.

With the house sold and most of my Navy paperwork wrapped up, I'm on my downward slope. I am going to start turning over with my relief next week. I think I've done a lot of good in the squadrons, but I'm ready to try something new. I'm excited to get started in the private sector. Both the military and private sector value leadership, but the military often shoots for different goals. For example, one of my biggest accomplishments in this job is increasing my operating budget from $3 million to $5 million, which is the exact opposite of what the civilian world strives for. My resume can say, increased cost 67% while providing same level of output.
