I made another Wharton Diary Post:
Wharton Welcome weekend was absolutely amazing. Many people I spoke to said, "I wasn't sold on Wharton before I got here, but now I am definitely coming!"
For the specifics, I defer to Dmitry and Brad. All I can say is that I was impressed by the caliber of admitted students and the genuine sense of camaraderie among the students before school has even begun. Wharton is definitely about the people.
For example, at my table for the Welcome Weekend farewell dinner there was: a Wall Street trader, an entrepreneur who founded his own software company, an executive from Samsung consumer electronics, a president of a real estate investment company, the real estate mogul's husband (who is opening an ice cream franchise), a manager in the public sector, a private equity analyst, an operations manager, and a general manager. Needless to say, the conversations varied widely and continued into the night as the wine flowed freely. Great group of people!
Choosing an MBA program is always cited as being a personal choice. There is no "best business school" only the best fit for you. I would encourage any student considering Wharton to visit the campus, attend classes, and talk to the students.
